Proven Leadership Delivering Results for Our Community
In 2006, I came to Spokane Valley for a job interview. I wasn't looking for a new job, but something was pulling me this way. The company was recruiting me hard so I started looking for a community to be our long term home. The first time I got off the Appleway exit to Liberty Lake from I-90, I fell in love and didn't look back.
About 5 weeks later, my husband, our 4 year old son, 2 dogs, and I left Cincinnati and met the moving truck in front of our house near Liberty Lake Elementary school. 17 years later, I am still in love with our community and am so proud to say that I have been involved with the City first as a council member and now, as Mayor, for over 13 1/2 years!
I have been married for 27 years to my husband, Scott, and our son, Kyle is out on his own and works for Audi in Spokane Valley. My Dad is a former Planning Commission Chair and Council Member for both Montgomery, OH and Liberty Lake. He and my Mom now live just outside of Liberty Lake in Spokane Valley. Attending those commission and council meetings when I was a kid is what inspired me to get involved here.
I have spent my professional career in Project and Account management in technology fields - managing multi-million dollar projects while directing cross functional teams and interacting with C-level executives on a constant basis. Currently I am Manager of Sales Support at TierPoint in Liberty Lake - my focus is project management and process improvement to better utilize resources and to become more efficient and more accurate in what we do.
I am extremely lucky to work for a company that not only understands my civic involvement over the years as a Council Member, but several of the Senior Executives from my company wrote letters of support for me to be appointed to the Mayor's seat. There is a difference between working hard and working smart. I prefer to work smart, leveraging the City's unbelievable staff and the connections I have made over the last 11+ years to get things done.
